Yes, Roco Kingdom is free-to-play on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, iOS and Android. The developers say every Jini at launch can be obtained by playing, PvP is not pay-to-win because levels are equalised, and there are no pay-only creatures. Spending is expected to focus on cosmetics such as outfits, plus a battle pass. The October 2026 beta has no purchases at all.

Monetization in short

  • Download price: free on every platform
  • Jinies: all 400+ at launch obtainable through normal play
  • PvP: levels equalised, decided by team building and type matchups
  • Expected spending: cosmetics, battle pass
  • Quack Quack Test beta: no in-game purchases

"Free-to-play" can mean very different things, from genuinely generous to a paywall with extra steps. Here's what has actually been said about Roco Kingdom's model, and what's still unknown before the global launch.

Is Roco Kingdom free?

Yes. The global version is free to download and play on all announced platforms: PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS and Android. The Steam page sums up the pitch with "zero paywalls".

Is Roco Kingdom pay-to-win?

According to Morefun Studios, no. Two design choices back that up:

  • Level equalisation in PvP. When you battle other players, Jini levels are made equal, so a player who spent more can't simply out-level you.
  • No pay-only Jinies. The developers state that all Jinies at launch can be obtained through normal play.

Battles are decided by your team, the 18-class counter system and how you manage energy turn by turn.

Does Roco Kingdom have gacha?

Not for Jinies, based on everything announced so far: previews describe no gacha wall to get creatures. That's the biggest difference from many other free-to-play collectors, where the rarest creatures sit behind random pulls.

What can you buy in Roco Kingdom?

Hands-on previews mention a battle pass focused on cosmetic features and monthly events with exclusive visual-only Jini variants. Outfits matter a lot in Roco Kingdom (you can twin your look with your Jini), so expect most spending to be about style.

Item Status
Base game Free
Jinies Obtainable through play
Cosmetic outfits and styles Expected to be purchasable
Battle pass Mentioned in previews, cosmetic focus
Purchases in the October beta None

Exact prices for the global version haven't been published. We'll update this article when they are.

What about the Chinese version?

The Chinese version launched on March 26, 2026 and passed 30 million registered players in nine days. It also ranked first among new Chinese mobile games of 2026 for revenue, so it clearly makes money, which supports the idea that it does so through cosmetics and passes rather than by locking creatures.

Spend on the game, or on the merch?

If the game itself is free, a lot of fans put their "support the series" money into real-world items instead. Our official t-shirts, hoodies and mugs start from €19.90 and are printed to order for the US and EU.
